All's right with the world

The Boy and The Girl turn twenty and eighteen today.

Twenty. And eighteen. They're grown now, turning away from home, facing the world and taking strong steps into independent lives: The Boy, so entrenched in his studies and activities, planning a career that brings his passions together in a way only he could do; The Girl, ending high school on the high of acceptance into the college of her dreams in the state of her dreams. Both are so ready to take on the world, so self-assured and willing to work - hard - to reach their hearts' desires.

With them, all's right with the world. They make it right, for themselves and for everyone around them. Happy Birthday, kids. Dad and I wish for you the happiest of birthdays and blessings to last a lifetime.

4 points of view:

  1. Happy Birthday to your wonderful children!
And congratulations to a wonderful Mom and Dad who prepared them to take on the world!

  2. I wish their mothers could know how they are doing so well with you.I would like to think it would make them feel some relief to know that they are part of such a beautiful family. I know you wish for that too. They look so strong and so happy. Wishing you huge congratulations for their birthdays. You're such a lovely mother Margie.

  3. (((((((KIM)))))))

It's so good to hear from you - I will email, I have been so bad, life being as nuts as it is.

What you say is exactly what's in my mind. And I wish their mothers knew, too, but no visits so far. I will be hopeful forever, though.

Juliette, thanks so much. It's almost impossible to wrap my head around the fact that our oldest is out of his teens, and our youngest will away at college in the fall. It has flown by in a blur.
