This is why I want to go to BELGIUM (the Netherlands, too, though)

Wow, that was a heck of a brain burp!! I saw what I thought was Dutch (but is maybe Flemish?) and didn't even read the caption enough for it to sink in. Antwerpen is in Belgium, which I know but apparently not well enough to catch myself before I posted this. Nothing like a little public stupidity to remind you of your flaws :)

I still DO want to go to the Netherlands, though. I'll just add Belgium to that particular trip list.

Again, many thanks to Pam Hasegawa of Adoption-News-Service for sharing!

  5. it's just so rare these days to experience a pure joie de vivre! I watched mildly amused, then started tapping my feet, and then became a little emotional.... I felt like this watching 'where the hell is Matt' too!

  6. Exactly, Meadow - what I really loved were the folks on the sidelines who were doing the same thing. Love it!!!

Anyway, when you are going to Antwerpen, I live about 165 km from there: WELCOME!

  8. BTW: it's a promotional video for a new Belgian TV-program, "Looking for Maria", in which they are searching for an actress to play in the Belgian version of "The sound of music".

  9. Awwww, I really thought it was a genuine thing.... well of course I knew it was staged, but i thought the people in the station did not realise what was happening.

  10. I knew it had to be staged - no way people could dance that well and follow the choreography unless they'd practiced - but I STILL love it!

They used to do stuff like this at Union Station in DC during holidays and for special events. I actually tap danced there when the newly-renovated station was reopened (long story about the tap dance) - nothing on the scale of this video, but fun all the same.

  11. yeah, i knew it was staged by some dance school etc, but it looked like the civilians at the station didn't realise what was happening and they thought that it was random etc.... I am wondering now if the onlookers were actors, or if the onlookers didn't actually realise.. like it appeared.

    But I still love it!

  12. Flemish and Dutch are the same language. If you go to Belgium I will come and see you.

  13. The onlookers didn't know what hit them: only the dancing was staged.
